< We know most of the George Bush supporters have never spent a day in uniform, have never been closer to a battlefield than seeing it through the television screen >
Most of George Bush's supporters ARE or HAVE been on the battlefield. Do these people not understand that the military is one of the largest segments of the GOP? Why did the Dims want all those military ballots left uncounted? Duh? They are delusional. They are protesting in a place that does nothing but hurt their cause.
I thought the drudge headline was a joke.
I hope to join you guys when I get back. I'd like a leftist to tell me I've never been in uniform or never seen combat.
Please be so kind as to not threaten violence against peaceful protestors, no matter how much you disagree with them. Such talk has no place on FR.
Having been at 17 of the 18 FReeps at Walter Reed, I am concerned that inflamatory statements like those will come back to hurt us. They will embarrass FR and may even be used by leftists to justify attacks on peaceful FReepers at Walter Reed. Such talk can help the evil Pinkos who we have been struggling against at Walter Reed since March.

Ping.
Considering the source, no.
For liberals there are no facts, no truth, no black and white. They must live in a conditional world where, for example, an action by a Republican Administration is evil and the same action by a Democrat Administration is admirable.
Bravo! BillF, both for your continuing efforts and an excellent post.
BTW, can you do a post that has links to all the counter-protest threads?
The leftists always pull the chickenhawk card. "Why aren't you over there?" they say. It's a silly argument, especially when made to some of us who are way, way past maximum age limits.
It'll be good to have you with us and you can respond when they bring out that crap.
Yep. Luke is a lying sack of Che Guevara!
Thanks for your kind words.
You've FReeped in person, whereas those with the over the top remarks probably have not. I think you may be in a redder area than I, but still pretty blue within the city itself.
When yahoos advocate violence against peaceful leftist protestors, and I consider that our actions our in the bluest of blue areas, I think about Indians.
It's like DC Chapter is on the frontier surrounded by Indians and we are keeping the Indians (leftists) from the warpath. Then some yahoo, who lives 500 miles from the Indians, shouts that settlers should be killing all Indians. Our local Indians will hear that and take it out on us. And I want the settlers and Indians to get along, especially since they outnumber us here.
I'll be tied up until next week, but I think it's a good idea to do a thread linking all the reports from the Walter Reed. I can't do it now, but you can click below and you will be able to pick out the threads, probably a third of the threads since March will be about the Walter Reed events

A hospital is not a suitable location for an anti-war demonstration," said Bill Floyd of the D.C. chapter of FreeRepublic.com,who stood across the street from the anti-war demonstrators on Aug. 19. .....
I'm so proud of you and the DC chapter! Keep up the good work and keep making those pinkos show their true commie red colors.
Guilty as charged. You're right, of course, that your non-violent approach is best and puts the proper public relations face on those who support the troops and stand in opposition to the leftist protesters. I applaud your efforts and congratulate you on your successes.
But I don't retract my emotional response to the left's reprehensible attack/protest on wounded vets. Others will disagree I'm sure, but I see those protesting the wounded vets in the same light as I see those who prey on and abuse children, steal from the elderly, abuse animals or beat women and children. It brings out the worst in me.
Part of the rehab regimen should include a little protester butt kicking.
I can sympathize with what you are saying. It does make you angry, especially when it is Americans who are doing this. To live in the greatest country and have such freedoms and they do not appreciate it. Like casting your pearls to swine.
I appreciate your position, your advice and what you're trying to do. I'll give it some more thought.
