Grandpa keeps sending brochures for Hillsdale to daughter #1. Given her personality, I don't think it will happen

Just suggst that she make Grandpa happy by checking out the place. When I went there to do the tour was when I decided that Hillsdale was where I wanted to go.

And we had a lot of fun at Hillsdale. The social life can be terrific, if you are looking for that. If not, it's a great place academically, too.

I suspect that if she looks the place over, she'll give it serious consideration.

Moral Absolutes Ping.

Should interest those of you in high school, or with children, granchildren or other kids coming up that you're concerned about.

Not all institutions of higher learning are pits of vipers. Here's some info about some good ones.

Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.

>>Texas A & M – College Station<<

There's no such school. Its "Texas A&M University" and its located in College Station, Texas, but not by the name referenced.

Gig 'em.

Thanks - that's good to hear. When it comes time, I will definitely suggest we just "take a look".

Although she's very well liked, and often looked to as a leader, she's the kind of kid who doesn't like to strike out on her own - usually needs "a friend along". Yet she's been able to resist many of the social pressures that have come her way (so far). I think she'd be miserable at the school of choice for most in our area (UW-Madison).

When I was in YAF, I was friendly with some of the YAFers from there, including the then-Wisconsin state chairman, Robert E.A. P. Ritholtz. The YAFers were the founders of the alternative campus paper, the Badger Herald.

Christendom College

Thomas Aquinas College

Magdalen College

Three highly recommended real Catholic colleges that weren't mentioned in the article.

We got the same speech at Fordham University (Jesuit) in 1994. That didn't stop visits from our girlfriends/bar pick-ups at our dorms, nor curb excessive drinking either.

Jesuit schools are hotbeds of sex and drinking. There was considerably less of that when I attended the University of Chicago, which is a secular private school.

I love getting my Hillsdale newletter each month & I didn't even attend the college. I have no clue how I got on their mailing list, but I am please to be on it.

That would be great. It's a terrific publication, and not just because it comes from my alma mater. There is a spot in each issue where you can suggest people, and since it's free, how can you not do someone a favor?
