Boy Charged With Firing Gun Faces $250,000 Bond
POSTED: 8:48 am PDT August 24, 2005 UPDATED: 9:12 am PDT August 24, 2005
BOSTON -- A juvenile court judge in Boston has shocked prosecutors by setting bail at $250,000 for a 12-year-old boy charged with firing a handgun in the city.
The district attorney's office had asked for a bail of $5,000 when the boy was arraigned Tuesday on a juvenile weapons possession charge.
But Judge Paul D. Lewis said he'd lost patience with youth violence in his 23 years on the bench. Lewis told The Boston Globe that youngsters are out of control.
The boy's lawyer describes her client as developmentally disabled and said this is the first time he's ever been in trouble with the law.
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino applauded the high bail, saying it sends a message that "we're not going to tolerate guns on the street."
That's what they all say.
Is the boy a flight risk or a danger to the community?
We no longer have a justice system it is a legal system.
If this judge isn't going to "tolerate guns on the street", does this put Officers at risk if they can't carry?
About fracking time.
You've been listening to too much Billy Bragg. It would be interesting to know what the circumstances were.
It's cruel and unusual punishment. Judge will be admonished, no doubt!

Noöne knows. The police responded to a reported gunshot. Found the boy in possession of a revolver with one chamber fired.
As there appears to have been nobody else around when the gun was fired, the judge's "loss of patience with youth violene" maybe attributed to sand in his vagina.
who is Billy Bragg seriously PM me I don't know

What would they do with the "kids" in O-T-R, Walnut Hills, Bond Hill, Avondale, etc.
"The incident unfolded at about 5 p.m. Monday in the South End, according to police.
Officers heard a loud bang at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Randolph Street and saw the 12-year-old boy running off, according to police. They approached a 20-year-old man and an 11-year-old boy on the corner, who explained they had been lighting firecrackers, police said. The officers found no evidence of fireworks
Soon, the 12-year-old returned, carrying a black bandana, police said. Searching the bandana, officers found a loaded Smith & Wesson .38-caliber handgun, police and prosecutors said. One round had been fired, and one remained in the chamber, authorities said. The boy was arrested."

Billy Bragg is a communist South African folk singer. I like his music real well, but there's a line in one of his songs (Waiting on Remand) that says: "This isn't a court of justice, son, this is a court of law."
Funny how Mass has some of the toughest gun control laws in the nation... bet ya'll a steak dinner that this gun is unregistered and unliscensed in the socialist city of boston... expect more gun laws regarding *child safety locks' to be passed in mass in addition to the handfull that already exist!
An old attorney I knew lectured new employees in his office, saying, "The first thing you have to know is that any relationship between the practice of law and justice is purely coincidental."
