PR Machine Behind Cindy Sheehan? ABC7 Looks At The Financing Of 'Camp Casey'
ABC News ^ | Mark Matthews

Posted on 08/25/2005 7:41:37 PM PDT by FairOpinion

With the President back at his Crawford ranch, the anti-war protest right outside his ranch is getting a lot more media attention. ABC7 looks at who is financing the operation and who's providing on-the-ground support.

The camp at Crawford is full of Cindy Sheehan supporters, people from all walks of life. But off to the side are a small group of professionals, skilled in politics and public relations who are marketing her message.

Cindy Sheehan kneels before a cross with her son's name on it, touches his picture, wipes her tears. It's an outpouring of emotion that is part of a scheduled news event organized daily for the television radio and print reporters who crowd in to capture a mother's grief.

The article mentions that Ben and Jerry's Icecream and moveon.org, Howard Dean's "Democracy for America", and Code Pink are funding the Cindy Sheehan protests and are orchestrating photo ops.

I finally got a clue and stopped buying Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Yeah, it's the best ice cream I've ever tasted, and I LOVE ice cream, but dang it, I'm so sick of their extreme left-wing activism. I decided I was no longer going to fund their lunacy.

Every time I bought a pint of B&J I may as well have been handing $2.50 over to the loons themselves. Who could then turn around and slap me and every other conservative in the face with it. No more.

So I went on the hunt for new ice cream (ice cream's a serious thing with me), and you know what? I found a terrific one--the new light Haagen Daz in cherry fudge truffle or smores! Half the fat -- but it's good! Bye bye Ben and Jerry's!

When Ann Coulter was on Hannity and Colmes tonight, she was cheering Cindy on...and told ole Ellis Henican that she is her biggest fan...

and wishes that Cindy could get her own show on TV...because Cindy is the best thing going for the Republicans.

She really made Alan and Ellis mad because she kept referring to Cindy as the Spokesperson for the Democrats...everytime she mentioned her she would say that...and Ellis and Alan would both say.."she is NOT the spokesman!" gotta love her!

"I finally got a clue and stopped buying Ben and Jerry's ice cream."

Good job! I do the same (only with beer, not ice cream). They really leave us no choice.

"You can't burn crosses in Texas only in Mississippi"

My friend, you are about thirty-five years too late. The few KKK nutcases left in Mississippi keep a very low profile and don't dare crawl out from under their rocks. Mississippi has more African-American elected officials than any other state in the Union, and there are a large number of African-American law enforcement officers in every jurisdiction.

There was an old civil rights song, "The Times They Are A-changin'." The times did indeed change in Mississippi a long time ago.

Perhaps it's time to seriously consider dusting off sedition laws and intern these creeps for the duration of the conflict. We are not talking about jews folks, these "anti-war" provocateurs are doing what historically would put you at the business end of a noose.

There is more to George Soros than insider trading. Be afraid - be very afraid.

Cindy Sheehan is just another useful idiot for Soros and his leftist pals. The only problem is he and his ilk are again misjudging Americans like they did over a year ago when they thought that with their dollars and the biased reporting of their main stream media sycophants they could steal the white house.

They are now trying to re-fight last years election by attaching their "We Hate Bush" mantra to a woman whose stories have more holes in them then the swift boat that Kerry tried to ride to the White House.

As "Homie De Clown" used to say - "Freepers don't play that"!

Your absolutely correct in your assessment.

Most of the locals in Texas and Oklahoma have bent over backwards to be fair in their reporting.

"When Ann Coulter was on Hannity and Colmes tonight, she was cheering Cindy on..."

Caught that too and I agree with her. The anti-war groups think they can use Sheehan to attract the mainstream to their big protest next month, but the more she is exposed the more they and the Democrats who echo her views are exposed for being out of the mainstream.

They really leave us no choice.

No they don't. But the world is full of so many wonderful things that not buying a particular brand of ice cream -- or not seeing a movie with a particular actor in it or buying a CD by a particular band -- is a very small sacrifice to make.
