ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) - Two Surinamese brothers who had been detained and released in the Natalee Holloway case were arrested again Friday in her disappearance, officials said.
Satish and Deepak Kalpoe were arrested after authorities uncovered ``new facts and circumstances,'' in the investigation of Holloway's disappearance, the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
The brothers were detained on suspicion of involvement, with unidentified ``other people,'' in premeditated murder and rape, the prosecutor's office said.
To arrest them again, ``there had to be new facts and circumstances. That is the case,'' the statement said.
Satish, 18, and Deepak, 21, were released from jail in July after a judge ruled there was not enough evidence to hold them in the disappearance of the 18-year-old American who vanished on the final night of a high school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island.
The brothers had been arrested June 9 along with Joran van der Sloot, 18, who authorities have identified as a suspect in the case though no charges have been filed.
Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., was last seen leaving a bar with the Kalpoe brothers and van der Sloot in the early hours of May 30. Extensive searches of the island have produced no sign of the teen who was last seen in public leaving a bar with van der Sloot and two other young local men.
there you go...slowly catchee monkey
There were two times I left a night club with tourist girls. Each time I saw them to their hotels. One of them after a visit to an emergency room. She got stung by a Man-O-War jellyfish.
Every other time I've accompanied a girl I met at a party to another party or out to a night club, I always made it a point to give one of her friends my driver's license number and phone number.
In fact, this one time at a bachelor party - we met a couple of girls who wanted to party with us. As a group we insisted that they take one our ID's, call a friend, and give them that information, and the name of our next destination.
Each time it was us guys who initiated the responsible behavior. Women just don't do it... I think they're afraid we won't like them if they insist.
Boy, does she have information......it's shocking!
Nope but you're welcome to share.
What an excellent idea. All mothers should insist their daughters do this.
Tammy Bruce is great. What did she have to say?
BTW: I killed Lacy Peterson and Greta is next!
Yeh -- what did Tammy Bruce say? We are waiting with bated/ baited (sardine?) breath.....
In case you didn't know, Tammy Bruce wrote a book called The Death of Right and Wrong that is a must read for every parent or grandparent with kids in public schools.
And your comment about her is unnecessarily crude and says more about you than anything else you could possibly say.
Except fake id's are a dime a dozen and will lead to a false sense of security. Better to raise a daughter that won't take off with strange men.
That's a good point.
Good News!
Ouch? Hansel wouldn't like that??????
You read me wrong. I adore Tammy Bruce, email her often when she is on Talk Radio. I thot it was funny that the poster said, "you should have heard what TB had to say" and then left us hanging with nothing more. I loved Death of Right and Wrong. I thot what I wrote was funny.....
Okay. I thought you were one of those folks who, because Tammy Bruce is gay, was trying to slam her. She's one of the good people of the world, imo.
I LOVE Tammy Bruce. Except the day before the election when she said, "well, folks, we should try to get used to the idea of Gore being Prez." I emailed her -- "what are you saying???" She said, "well, we have to be realistic." She'll be a full Republican before long. Christian too, I bet.
I remember Tammy doing that. Freepers were freaking out. In her defense, I think even some folks on FNC were saying it was over. My phone was ringing off the hook with worried neighbors.
If all democrats were like Tammy in terms of her reasonableness and staunch concern for national security and the security of our kids, the world of politics would be a better place.
Help - I'm still waiting for what she said! LOL
