Good point I tend forget how vast the US is and in some cases places are as far from each other in flying time as they are from England.

snugs, to give you an idea just how big it is, you could drive all day (11 hours) at 60 mph with no stops except for gas and still not be all the way across Texas.

I should remember since my one and only holiday in the States we drove from the White Mountains through Vermont to Niagara and it took a day and half but I still cannot get the vast distances in my mind.

I drove across Texas from Texarkana to El Paso in a day...a whole day...a looong, whole day. I swear, if I ever have to make that trip again, I will cut through the north panhandle, just for variety.
