Just sent this to Paige Hopkins:
I am very disappointed Fox News is not providing more (and live) coverage of the Support-the-troops rally in Crawford. I would expect CNN, MSNBC and others to ignore this event but hope Fox maintains the fair and balanced reporting, and gives them as much coverage as they have given Sheehan and the anti-war crowd.
Actually, "disappointment" is an understatement...
Sent an email.
I will try to send another to the viewer services address.
Made my call. Told them "I want to see as much coverage of today's events re Bush/Troop supporters as we've seen of Sheehan. We've seen a month of Cindy and today is a big event for Bush/Troop supporters and I'd like to see more coverage, lots of it."
Since all we've heard for a month is wall to wall Sheehan, they have a lot of catching up to do. :)
Wrote all contacts, phoned, let Fox have it for failing to cover our combined counter-protest(s). In every case, I pointed out that our men and women in Iraq are either watching or will hear about the events in Crawford. Was snide and recommended that they consider that, along with the FACT that their coverage of Cindy has been nonstop and completely one-sided for weeks. Asked if their harangue about being "fair and balanced" had been intended as a joke, becaaaaause, based upon today's inaction that was the only thing I could surmise. Threw in that both CNN cable outlets had JUST run coverage of Crawford, simply because I knew they'd dislike it.
I worked with the press for years. I've spent the week sending polite requests for coverage of today's event. We're running out of time. They need to hear us and get with it. And they need to do it now.
