Police in Montreal are searching for an Iraq war veteran from Fayette County and his friend from California who have been missing since Monday morning.
Officials in Canada told family members that the last known contact with Mark Robert Kraynak, 23, of Uniontown, and Steve Wright, 20, of California, was a mobile phone call they made at about 3 a.m. Monday to a third friend, Deric Manzi, letting him know that they were in a cab headed for an after-hours club outside of Montreal.
The two missing men and Manzi, all bodybuilding models, were expected to meet their manager at 10 a.m. Monday and then drive to Toronto. When they had not shown up by 2:30 p.m., the manager contacted the police.

Police: Models died in accident (Pair fell into quarry near Montreal while fleeing cabbie over fare)
Canadian police believe that two men found dead may have fallen into a quarry while fleeing from a taxi driver they had cheated out of a fare.
But the mother of one of them -- Mark Kraynak of Uniontown -- said she doesn't believe it, and that her son was running from a threat of some kind.
The men were found to have fallen 50 feet onto a ledge in a quarry in Laval, Quebec, near Montreal. Police told Canadian news agencies that the pair may have gone over the edge in the dark while fleeing a cab driver they hadn't paid.
