I'm in Massachusetts and I'm transfixed with this storm.
Prayers for all of the folks on the Gulf.
I am in Phoenix, I am transfixed too. Its like a car accident that you just cant look away from.
My grandmother taught me her recipe and the secret ingredients are butter, sugar, butter, sugar, butter, butter, sugar, and a little more butter.
:-)
There is the potential of a tidal wave from that volcano in the Canary Islands that would devastate the entire east coast sometime in the next x number of centuries. There wouldn't be much warning, a lot like this hurricane. Everybody should take a look at their local situation just on the off chance something ever happens. Natural disaster of some kind is always with us.
Just don't send Ted down to NO to drive any of the evacuation vehicles.
Thanks, Mears, for the prayers. My son-in-law is a Lt. commander in the merchant marine on an oil tanker. They have just picked up a load of heating oil at Lake Charles, La. and were destined for the east coast yesterday. He said they were already in the huricane with waves twenty foot as of yesterday. We have no idea where he is right now.
Just heard from someone overseas in ME that can access CNN International and people there are transfixed with this storm also.
I'm in Alaska and we've been keeping vigil on hurricane Katrina too. A prayerful BUMP for all of those in her dangerous path.
