TODAY'S REAL POLL: BUSH JOB APPROVAL - 52% AMONG LIKELY VOTERS
RasmussenReports.com ^ | August 29, 2005 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 08/29/2005 12:44:59 PM PDT by new yorker 77

Monday August 29, 2005--Forty-nine percent (49%) of American adults now approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. That's the most positive assessment since August 2.

It is not clear whether this recent improvement reflects real change or is merely statistical noise.

Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.

Eighty-two percent (82%) of Republicans Approve of the President's performance along with 24% of Democrats and 37% of those not affiliated with either major party.

...

Cindy Sheehan, the woman who maintained an anti-War protest outside President Bush's ranch, is viewed favorably by 35% of Americans and unfavorably by 38%. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Americans believe it is time to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq.

During 2004, reports on the President Job Approval were based upon surveys of Likely Voters. Typically, a survey of Likely Voters would report a Job Approval rating 2-3 points higher than a survey of all adults.

On Election Day, the President's Job Approval was at 52%. During all of 2004, the President's Job Approval ranged from a high of 57% in early January to a low of 48% on May 17.

The President's highest rating of 2005 was 54% on February 4.

Here's Reality.

According to the pollster who got the Election in 2002 and 2004 right,

President Bush's Job Approval among 'likely voters' is 52%.

49% of 'national adults' + 3 points for a likely voter model = 52%.

The assembly line of polling data from liberal institutions in recent weeks are FAKE. These polls undersample Republicans, or oversample Democrats, or they do both. These polls also poll 'national adults' instead of 'likely voters'. 55% of 'national adults' will not vote in 2006.

The idea that polls of 'national adults' are a better guage of the nation's attitude during off-years between elections is ignorant.

'National adult' polls are cheaper to take. This is why they are taken in off-years. It is much more expensive and difficult to get the opinion of Americans who care enough to vote. Polls of 'national adults' garner the opinion of the feckless and lazy who never vote. People who are selfish enough to throw their vote away are also selfish enough to throw our troops away. Getting their opinion is useless. You might as well poll children and the mentally ill.

As a conservative, I have learned from past media propaganda escapades that their polls are part of their FAKE news.

I do not quiver in the face of FAKE POLLS.

POLLS ARE POLITICAL.

POLL DERIVES FROM THE WORD POLITICS.

ANY POLL THAT DOES NOT GARNER THE OPINION OF AN ACCURATE SAMPLE OF LIKELY VOTERS IS USELESS.

FAKE POLLS DO NOT TRANSLATE INTO REAL VOTERS!

This alone says that the final poll results were skewed by oversampling to get enough negative results to balance the positive.

What amuses me is that Freepers shriek about how inaccurate polls are when they don't agree with them, but how they trumpet them when the polls do.

What does it mean "likely voters?" Bush isn't running for anything.

Or they just shriek at polls in general or those who govern by them, especially Presidents. Honestly, "shrieking" at polls in this day and age is no different than shrieking at MSM bias.

That was my thought when I saw the numbers. Thank you for confirming my "back of the napkin" math.

Well, I guess the LIBERALS will stop quoting the polls now that the polls favor Bush. I wish the Republicans would beat the drums like the DEMS do whenever there is GOOD news.

But unfortunately most of the time, our side has people like John Warner who is going to hold new investigations into Abu Garaib and Rummy. Circle around Republicans and start shooting into the circle, why don't we?

President Bush needs to start beating the drum himself about ANY and ALL good news. He has the bully pulpit after all.

Tell little "homey" stories about the soldiers or their families. Tell about the restaurant owners in DC who are feeding the wounded. Talk about the volunteers who speak up for the troops. Come'on President Bush...we want the troops to be successful. Start speaking up about them.

When we agree with the polls, that means they were done correctly and the real truth is coming out.

Do we have all 18% of the Republicans who disapprove of Bush on FR?

Perfect example:

According to MSM, Clinton was so wildly popular yet never got over 50% of the popular vote. Bush gets over 50% in 2004 but all of a sudden, his popularity numbers go south.

HMMMMMM!!!

As an interesting side note to your comment, I met relatively few enthusiastic Clinton supporters during his presidency--despite the MSM's trumpeting of his popularity. I new plenty of people who were disgusted with him even before Monica. Bush is the opposite, the MSM talks about the waining of his support, yet his supporters are genuinely enthusiastic about the man.

That being said, my circle of friends (R) is fairly narrow

THe point is that his standing among republicans is strong, and the democrat leaders have driven a wedge through this country such that those who consider themselves democrats feel they must hate the president.

Amen to that. Everyone of the Bush polls is absolutely bogus and irrelevant. Talk about making crap up...
