IMHO, that is why Burglar stole the documents. They were what remained of those that had not been destroyed. Clinton might have given the order initially and subsequent to the 9-11 hearings!

I've been thinking for a couple of days now about the whole "get Karl Rove" thing that was happening just 6 weeks ago and how it relates to this August.

As a coach, I sometime run schemes that are specifically intended to "clear the decks" so that I can accomplish my goals unimpeded.

I think that the effort to get Rove on specious data was specifically intended to remove the architect before the August Sheehan onslaught.

Further, I have to wonder if this Weldon stuff is the political response to a brutally unfair attack.

The witness, who Weldon did not name, says that he was ordered to destroy records [re Able Danger] and was threatened with jail if he failed to comply. Weldon said that he has the names of the people involved, including the person who gave the order, and HE WILL NAME THEM in his speech.

This latest is probably why over the week-end, the Pentagon spokesman changed his tune, and suddenly became less insulting to Shaeffer, Phillpot, and the third contractor, who's name I can't remember right now, and now Weldon tells us, there's one more. I sent a "Letter to the Editor" of Washington Times today about it:

To the Washington Times:
"Pentagon spokesman, Lawrence DiRita keeps changing his story on Able Danger. First he mocked the memory of LTC Shaefer, then the combined memories of Shaefer and Phillpot. Now that another Able Danger contractor has come forward, DiRita issued a statement over the weekend saying, there's no reason to doubt the combined memories of these three men.

Oh, DiRita continues to ask the Catch 22 question: "Where's the documents?" The Pentagon has to know if these three whistleblowers had documents, unlike Sandy Berger, they would be severely punished for stealing classified documents.

Why isn't DiRita's latest version of the Pentagon position covered in newspapers today? It should be, if only so Americans will understand it's not just the 9-11 Commission that practices situational truth-telling."

Next Monday is Sept 5th (Labor Day) the 8th is on Thursday. So which day is the speech for sure. Monday 5th or Thursday 8th?
