The looters will ultimately be dealt with. Most might probably be absolved because of their evident distress, despite the distraction they created during the height of search and rescue, and the possible deaths that that distraction wrought. But the city will probably recover from even this moral depravity. But possibly then, just as the rebuilding and healing is in full swing, with optimism for the future and community fellowship again rekindled, a new unexpected depth for humanity might yet be fathomed.
