I am very curious if this article referes to certain branches of science, or all branches. Also, it sounds like it discusses 'studies' and not hard, experimental sciences. That being said, I've seen lots of mistakes in journal articles in chemistry. The mistakes are normally mixing up reaction products and their properties, or some other dumb mistake that doesn't take away from the core or the research.

Anotehr important point: MOST SCIENTIFIC PAPARS ARE BASED ON STUDENT RESEARCH!

It doesn't refer to certain branches, but I think it probably should. In my experience, the hard sciences are heads and shoulders above the rest, followed by the social sciences. Medicine is dead last.
