"I've seen a lot of healthy people who thought they knew better and wouldn't leave."
One reporter I saw on the news was talking about rescue crews knowing of people who absolutely refused to leave, and in some areas it's presumed that everyone who stayed has been lost. This was a reporter speaking from Hwy? 90 in Gulfport, I believe.
But the emphasis was so on the pathway it was taking to Louisiana, it would have been almost understandable for the people in MS to think that they were going to get the lighter end of the storm.
About three months ago, perhaps less, a little girl (I believe it was) was killed by a shark. The family had been warned. The kid paid the ultimate price.
Once again, we have people who were warned. There's some gene that some people have, that says something to the effect that they shouldn't do what they are told. They consider this to be maverick or cool behavior.
Not so cool today is it. It's really sad.
