There were a bunch of people that couldn't leave New Orleans because of the traffic, wasn't there?

They never opened the inbound lanes to outbound traffic. Did you see the pictures. You could have driven 70mph on the inbound lanes. No one was heading into town. Major failure government failure in that one.

From what I saw of the coverage a few hours before landfall, most of the outbound lanes had been cleared by then.

They were saying that most who remained behind, simply either didn't have a vehicle, couldn't afford the gas, were wheelchair bound, or had other disabilities that kept them from leaving.

And I doubt many thought at all that the fourth most powerful storm ever to hit the US was heading their way...

Noticed that also...The entire freeway should have been one-way.

Anyway, New Orleans is sadly sinking into WaterWorld.
