You are right. They do need to start shooting back. We left our home just west of New Orleans on Sunday morning and were able to return on Tuesday. We had no major damage (Thank God) but we had to leave again because we saw people scouting in our neighborhood for houses to rob. We still have no power and no 911 service, so we felt safer leaving.

I know so many people in our area who are now homeless. I know people who still have homes, but what will we all go back to? If the looters and thugs have their way, none of us will have anything. I am just so angry right now. On Monday night when the storm just missed New Orleans and I found out that my house was ok, I was overjoyed. Now I just don't know what life will ever be like here again. I have a friend who is in the Coast Guard. To think that he is trying to help these people and they are acting this way makes me furious.

I am just in shock that I used to live in the suburbs of a major metropolitan area that basically is no more. Please pray for all of us.

I think we will shortly see our brave politicians in Washington using this disaster as an excuse for the disarming of the American public. Wait and see.

Back when this first started I'd say that is correct.
Now that they've gotten away with it for awhile they are more bold and it will take a few more to get shot to get the message.
Personally I say if you are looting you get shot. if you are shooting at police or rescuers you get shot.
