The entitlement class raised on the teat of gov't maintained by Dimocratic policies. People who will never grow up and take responsibility because they have never needed to.
When you've got crack vials littering the floor, you realize that the hurricane really has nothing to do with the bedlam and chaos that is going on there.
Incredible article.
You are 100% correct.
And have enough food, water, and TP to last a month. At least.
What!? It was on the news for days!? They were told to leave. I really think that some of them wanted to stay and loot.
BINGO! We have a winner!!
I kept hearing on the news, at least 24 hours before the storm, that 20+ feet of water was possible and that the city would be uninhabitable for months.
If I was in NO hearing that, I would go in-land any way possible. Maybe bike or even walk out of town as a last resort.
Only the most disabled or elderly should be at the dome.
This isn't just the fault of the circimstances, it's the fault of the people involved.
Too many of those who stayed behind did so because they saw an opportunity to take advantage of the situation, and now they've run amok.
We'll see if things are much better in the AstroDome, but AC and toilets aren't going to be enough to satisfy some of these animals.
P.S. Wouldn't it be great if the Mayor of N.O. told this bunch to act like human beings, help themselves and others as much as possible, follow orders and STFU?
I agree. I was thinking, while watching the looting images, that those folks think they have won the lottery.
It would be pretty hard to leave,if you did not have any money!
Even when I was in college and living on barely anything, i could have gotten out of town.
Then they can pee and poop on the floor again.

Is that too simplistic? I guess it's easy to say that when I'm not in that situation. I realize that many of these people have, long ago, lost the will to do for themselves because the government has taken care of them.
Keep in mind, a LOT of the people going to the Astrodome are the ones who were smoking crack etc. in the superdome. Since I don't think they're going to be confined to the Astrodome, I can't wait to see what happens in there...I sense major trouble there too..

Some did not have cars or transportation. Some are handicapped or on medical support devices.
I would of hitch hiked myself if I had to.However if you are an 80 year old woman it would be pretty hard.
hard to leave,if you did not have any money!
Hogwash! Busses were OFFERING to take residents out of the city. I am sure they could have hitch hiked as well. Or, heck, just start walking!
