How could someone of true faith tell his son "Hey, it's the right thing to do. Christ would do it, sure, and he would be pleased by those actions... but you will get in trouble, so don't do it." Great message to send.

This actually makes my point. Tell the child something that will make it seem heroic for him to carry out this action and surprise, he goes and carries it out. This is why children shouldn't be used in political causes - they are easily manipulated, particularly by their parents. I can't believe a 10-year-old who, for instance, got arrested for trespassing while protesting the war in Iraq would get the same kind of consideration here that this boy is getting now. But it's the same thing. Children are indoctrinated, for good or for bad, by their parents. Most of us realize that using a child for political propaganda purposes (and make no mistake, that's what is happening here) is wrong whether or not we agree with the child.

In the mind of this 10 year old and most other rational thinking adults, it was far bigger than politics. It was about a woman being starved to death, to include dehydration by the very authorities that are to protect her.

If Christ moved this boys soul to do this, who are we to question that. In fact....WHY would anyone question that?

Only a politician would of course!

Are you sure you are posting at the correct website?

Even before I became a FReeper, I have witnessed only the 'peace' people using children and shoving them out the door to protests.

When children are raised in a home based on Faith, and are taught values and morals - the response Joshua displyed is natural.

They are taught right from wrong, know right from wrong, and make decisions based on what they know and believe.

Jesus works through those that are like children in their hearts - why not a child specifically? JK

Now a days a "liberal" emperor without clothes would have accused the child that accused him of "nakedness" as being manipulated by his evil moralistic parents. That seems to be what you are saying!

Do you have a child???? From my experience, you don't manipulate a child to do something he doesn't want to do. He might go along for the ride or the protest, but to take an active stand comes from inside the child. The child may take a position that looks wholly devised by the parent, or it might run wholly counter to the parent. Right or wrong, the child, such as this 10-year old is totally capable of reasoning based on the facts/feelings at hand and coming to his own conclusion. That being said, I do believe that a child should be protected from danger, including being arrested for whatever reason. A child should not have to worry about things like the death of Terri Schiavo. That will all come soon enough. The question is does anyone care enough as an adult to get the law changed in Florida and elsewhere to prevent this from happening again.
