The "Apocalypse" is now playing in New Orleans.
Coming soon to cities everywhere.

How can there be a huge fire? It's not like the place is a dry tinderbox?
I can see how there can be individual fires on the tops of particular structures, but anything encompassing several buildings doesn't seem terribly plausible.

Watch what? There's nothing at that link except a photo of a building that was burning yesterday afternoon.
Please use caution in posting "breaking" stories. There's lots of old photos and footage being shown on all the networks.

How can there be a huge fire? Not every bit is soaking wet. And there are plenty of downed wires that are still hot, and a lot of natural gas leaks apparently.

It doesn't look that big. Fires are common after floods, especially with broken gas lines...

Gas lines that have ruptured, fire like that can burn in water.
