"People are dying in the streets of the South, while Halliburton pads its contracts with MY money in a far-off land. And you can only blame clichees."

Last thing we need in NO is Halliburton. Need charities.

"MY money"

Actually, It's China's money. Might have to pay it back some day...

Either the morgue needs to be enlarged, ot the lawlessness there has been a well kept secret by the politicians...

I heard once that NO is the shooting capitol of the world so it's possible its actually safer there right now than on a normal day.

"He's right. Our priorities have been wrong in this country. We need to cut back on all foreign aid (I say eliminate it entirely), get rid of the UN and stop the war in Iraq. The hell with the Iraqis. I'm quite sure they would not help us if the situation were reversed."

Sadly these people who live in the most blessed nation in all of recorded history think no more of themselves to come to this age and still depend on government to save them.

That war in IRAQ is alllll about whether there will be FREEDOM and the free flow of OIL around this globe.

The dirt worshipers control our own flow and look who else controls the rest of the world's supplies.

I've learned that when someone calls someone else "liberal," they've spent too much time with their ear attached to the radio during Rush Limbaugh time. In other words, dumb.

Soooo..... Tell me- IF YOU were in charge of AMTRAK, would you send a train and engineer down tracks that are under water? Not for me, but maybe you could order this to happen.

Next time you want to call somebody PUERILE, it'll have more effect if you spell it right.

Yeah. That was especially great because he was trying to play the, "See how smart I am," card at the same time.

Well said. Seeing this mess just confirms what I've always thought. I'd rather be on my own.

Why aren't there more airlifts and drops of food and water?

Yawn. You have become tiresome.

Guiliani led New York through 9/11, and brought down the Mafia before that. For all his thoughts, THAT is a proven leader.

Can you name one thing that Giuliani did to "lead New York through 9/11?"

Bringing down the Mafia sure was a heroic deed. By the time Giuliani was elected mayor the Mafia was little more than a shadow of its old self -- comprised primarily of old men whose primary objective in life was to maintain a low profile and avoid making waves with law enforcement.

At least he picked a task he could handle. While Giuliani was "bringing down the Mafia" and locking up a bunch of old Italian guys in the carting business, organized crime among Chinese gangs in Chinatown and Russian gangs in Brighton Beach continued unabated.

That could be risky...

COnsidering there are no communications, how would one know how far they had to swim, or if they were even swimming towards dry land.

And, I wouldn't want to swim in that cesswater anyways.

Fact is, we got military help into the tsunami area within 48 hours, and $100,000,000 of MY money (and yours) on the spot in days.

I'm myself beginning to wonder what's holding up the rescue effort. From what I've seen the reports of civil unrest in NO have been greatly exaggerated. And even if there was civil unrest, why haven't they sent in the military to take care of things? Like you said we had rescue assets in fricking Indonesia faster than in New Orleans! People are dying of thirst at the New Orleans convention center which is not even flooded. Why can't the National Guard airlift water there? Is there anyone in charge of the whole operation and coordinating logistics etc.

I have been amazed at all the able-bodied evacuee's that are just sitting around and/or looting....instead of offering their services to the NG, FEMA, Red Cross, etc. I know that the disabled, weak and small children can't do much.....but there are so many that could.

I thought every Baptist church of even the smallest size had a bus for their outings. How come there has been NO COVERAGE of these busses being used to transport the "poor" out of the area??????

On the same topic, where were the Metro and school busses? Just parked and now destroyed?
