I can barely watch the coverage anymore after seeing that MSNBC coverage from the convention center...

1000's of people waiting on help that hasn't come. They went to the shelter like they were told... and no one is there no food, no water, no authorities.

Babies are dying.

They are laying the bodies against the walls.

It's horrible.

God help them all.

It is worse than most of us can imagine. But I'm not even sure this guy said what he did about Iraq. This story is sourced to the AP. Sounds like something they might doctor a story with.

I cant believe the Army, Natl Guard, Navy or some other unit cannot sling load a CH 47 with MREs and water into that area. Some logisticians are not with the program. These people are STARVING for crying out loud. There's Ft Rucker AL, (if they are still in business) and there are Army bases throughout the South. It aint that damn far away to get the essentials to include troops to patrol the streets. Fly cover with gunships if necessary. Someone at state or federal level needs to increase the tempo on support.

YOU ARE WRONG. There was food, water, working toilets, etc when they first went there. With no electricity, the toilets didn't take long to malfunction, for food and water to run out, and many of the refugees were bitching about not having ICE.... Incredibly ungrateful on their part, IMO, since they didn't listen to the orders to LEAVE TOWN----Wouldn't have to tell me twice, if I hadn't already figured it out for myself and left ahead of the orders to do so.

I didn't see the coverage but someone has seriously dropped the ball here. If private ambulances could get around the city initially there is no excise for the National Guard not getting into the city. The state leadership (Blanco) dropped the F'ing ball and things are exponentially worse now.
