You are absolutely right. We lost our home in the big Bay Area fire about a dozen years ago and it takes YEARS to get back on your feet. The spookiest part is when you start to reach for a tool or a dish and then realize you don't have it anymore. It's a freaking nightmare, believe me.

Some of them would if they had opposable thumbs and understood the concept of guns. Oh, and money. Guns cost money.
Some people are losing it... I think this is what happened to people who shot at the rescue helicopters.
Big deal. The weather's fine here in Cincinnati and no one is a refugee and someone got killed yesterday over a 12pack of beer.
Actually, the reason that many of these people are stranded is the same reason they are looting is the same reason they shoot each other: bad judgment.

Howard Dean is damn right that the South votes on God and Guns. Without guns, the law abiding citizens right now would be confronting a lot of armed thugs with no protection.
Don't think for a minute this guy wouldn't have tried to shoot people besides his relatives. If the Liberals had their way, the only people with guns would be the criminals. At least, many of the law abiding citizens have guns too and it'll be a fair fight.
