We saw some idiots from Australia who rode Katrina out in Florida, and thought it might be "fun" to catch it a second time around in New Orleans. They were in line at the Superdome, laughing it up and looking forward to their next adventure. This is probably a bit more than they bargained for.

An earlier poster on another thread said two Delta Force groups had been landed by helicopter around noontime. No official mention of this - the poster said his brother (a DF member) had called him to tell him they were there.
Since Eddie Jordan took over as the DA, crime has risen 4 fold. He has been absent since his first day on the job and continues to be as the crisis mounts.

Sad, as this is one of my favorite cities (mock me if you must). I have visited several times and was always treated well (and yes, I ventured OUTSIDE of the quarter). As I said before, the thugs of Treme (one of the worst nabes in America) have taken over. They should be tolerated with extreme prejudice.
They were a excuse looking for an opportunity. Evidently they had a plan. Hideous, yes, but a plan. The same cannot be said for NO officials. Defense is no plan, if you are supposed to be in CHARGE.

Well, I've never been to a city I'd like to visit on my free time, it's not my style... but that's neither here nor there.
I was wondering about terrorist cells too... but maybe these are really just 'ordinary' wicked people... wow... I don't live in the US, and looking at all this from the outside I find it just incredible. I really hope you guys can get a hold of the situation soon.
