From The Bleachers
Senate Majority Leader Frist and Speaker of the House Hastert released the following statement today:
The Administration notified the leadership of the Congress earlier today that FEMA was running low on funds for immediate assistance and would need funds sooner than the next regularly scheduled session, September 6. Upon this notification, we immediately consulted with Leader Pelosi and Leader Reid and we all agreed to invoke our emergency powers and called the Congress to reconvene.
We also agreed to pass the emergency supplemental by unanimous consent so we can move quickly, and time will not be spent waiting to reconvene our members. The House will pass an emergency supplemental bill tomorrow; the bill will be immediately sent to the Senate, passed and be available for the Presidents signature.
In the wake of this disaster, the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, should know that the United States Congress stands ready to help them in their time of need.

The bozos met last night, C-Span replayed a little while ago, they adjourned again until Tuesday. It was just Frist, Reid, Cochran and Schmuckie, who I turned off he is disgusting. The House will be in at 1:00 Eastern.

Welcome back. Time for pompous, posturing politicians to tell us what President Bush has not done right.

If anyone ever had any doubts about how despicable the rats are, the last few days should have been an eye opener.

A brief recap of last night....What happened yesterday was a quickie session to pass the $10.5 billion emergency aid bill...by unanimous consent..All you need to have a Senate session are three senators, a presiding officer, and one from each side of the aisle. This waa done. Cochran of Miss was in the chair, a nice gesture..Frist and Reid gave brief, formulaic comments, then Frist took the podium so that Cochran could go to the well and introduce the bill, and make some comments aboutt he unfolding tragedy, and that hope was coming..all nicely done, so far..then Frist and Cochran switch seats, as just as the chair is about to annoucne that the biull has been passed, there's a "disturbance" on the Senate floor, why, it's Chuckie Schumer..running towards the microphone..never failing to take the opportunity to grab some camera time..he made a stupid speech for about 15 minutes..totally unnecessary...I think even Reid was probably sick of him..
