This is not good. The only reason he would be doing this--again--is because internal polls are showing that the public is blaming the administration for the situation down there.

I can't tell you how many people I've heard already who are furious with Bush (unfairly, I might add) over the lack of preparedness.

The administration has really dropped the ball on this, pr-wise. I'm afraid this could be a death blow to Bush's popularity.

Bingo. It doesn't really matter who dropped the ball, because the PERCEPTION out there is that the Feds aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing.

This just goes to show you how dependent on government much of the American populace has become.

THE MSM poll out this morning shows 54% approval of the way the President is handling the hurricane assistance.

Sorry to disappoint you!

Allow me to respectfully disagree. Other States are able to handle hurricane relief in an efficient and orderly manner. I defy anyone to tell me that the State of Louisiana has handled this crisis in an effective manner. The erstwhile Governor decided yesterday that her presence was necessary at a Jesse Jackson presser, where she appeared with the Reverend and the CEO of Citgo. Neither one of these people is going to do a thing to alleviate the immediate crisis. Jesse Jackson is not going to save her butt.

She should have declared martial law on Tuesday. She should have sent the National Guard into New Orleans on Tuesday. I have yet to hear a word from the commander of the Louisiana National Guard (if there is one). What is needed after this crisis is an investigation into what the State and City did with its disaster relief money.

Mayor of New Orleans waited until the last minute for the evacuation orders, mayor let looting go.

I am so tired of the feds getting blamed and not the mayor and governor who didn't issue evacuation orders quickly, brought people to the superdome which was going to lose power was a disaster, and then let looting go crazy.

It is all part of PC with the mayor letting gangs run out of control even before the disaster.

CAN THE MSM EVER BLAME THE MAYOR OR GOVERNOR, PRESIDENT IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN CONTROL OF CITIES HE HAS NEVER EVEN VISITED BEFORE.

I AM SO SICK OF THE MSM, IF THERE WAS A LAW AND ORDER MAYOR LIKE GULIANI THE SITUATION WOULD BE DIFFERENT.

GOVERNOR NEVER ASKED FOR MORE NATIONAL GUARD BEFORE THE HURRICANE IT IS HER RESPONSIBILITY.

What popularity? He's been losing it ever since the election. I'm not saying that it's right, but it's true. The MSM have done a damn good job of bashing and he sits there and lets them. He needs some gonads for this period of time in his presidency. He needs prayer, as well.

Disagree. The rolling Rasmussen polling data shows President Bush's popularity in a steady climb since mid-August.
