Does any of the liberals ever wonder why Florida and New York were handled well. They should take note they had Republicans in charge of the government.

It has been spiritual warfare since the night of the first election. He must feel like Job. I pray for his strength and protection practically constantly. [for the Lord to give him strength and protection, is what I mean.]

You are so right! I pray for him many times a day. My heart breaks for him when I hear vitriol, hate and the unrelentless criticism that is dumped on him daily. Al (not the sharpest knife in the drawer) Sharpton was on TV today spewing his usual "Bush is a racist" garbage. I am not a violent person, but I have never wanted to smash someones face into a brick wall so badly in my life as I did today. At least after 9/11 it took weeks before these loathsome excuses for human beings started spewing this trash talk. I'm sure GW doesn't have time to look at blogs and websites. But its my hope that he or his aides are aware of our little oasis of sanity here at the dose, and that maybe he even lurks from time to time to get a little morale boost from those of us who love and pray for him and are so grateful that he is at the helm.

Good information. I have copied it and will be armed with it when inevitably some of my more liberal friends and co workers start their "It's Bush's fault" diatribes.

I've been saying that for years.... Just look at Florida in the 2000 election. The democrats cried foul in 4 counties, all of which were run by Democrats, but somehow it was the republicans fault for the Ballot, despite the fact that an elected Democrat designed the Ballot.

What's going on in New Orleans is no different, we have a Mayor of New Orleans who couldn't find his own ass with a flash light and a map, if his life depended upon it. The guy couldn't qualify to be a Den Mother of a group of 15 Cub Scouts

But I do hope that most of us think about this when we decide who to elect as Mayor or Governor. I really do think this shows what can happen if you have a weak Mayor and a weak Governor. I really think this would have been very different if Rudy Giuliani had been NO Mayor.,

I was thinking the same thing. What a contrast strong calm Rudy on 9/11 was to these trembling, crying incompetents. I would hate to think what would happen here in Milwaukee with our absentee mayor and a governor whose main talent seems to be grinning like an idiot (Dummies of course).

However .. WHY DOESN'T SHEP GET SOME WATER AND FOOD FOR THEM INSTEAD OF STANDING THERE BAD-MOUTHING THE PRESIDENT.

I never get the impression that Shep is going without food or water, but he sure is watching the people on the bridge go without.

I guess it just seems that if it were me, I would have left that bridge immediately when I saw there was no help. Walking down the road would have been much better than just sitting there. According to Shep that is no longer possible for these people, because authorities are preventing them from going to the next town. But Shep must be able to get out of there. He also screams that he doesn't know where the authorities are right after telling us that they are preventing people from going to the town. Something just isn't making sense to me about the whole scene.

That article is a very accurate picture of this whole mess. Politically incorrect perhaps, but so true.

And to add to the glee, Hubby just read that Mother Sheehan is off all busses on the tour and is back in California. (per Lucianne)

Oh,I thought Mother Sheehan would have diverted all the buses on her "tour" to go down to NO and help with the evacuation. sarcasm off now

They reported on Fox that they were letting the prisoners out and with no additional comment, as if it was like letting any law abiding citizen out. Not one single person mentioned that it may be dangerous.

Thanks. :) I sent the article from Mike's link to the media and Shepard Smith was definitely included on that list.

Shepard reports that people aren't being picked up on Interstate 10, but tonight some guy (I believe it was a military person) said that they had picked up lots of people. Guess Shepard doesn't realize that people are picked up and more people arrive to be picked up.

God help us because half the world has absolutely gone crazy.

LOL!!
I heard his radio interview rant, blaming the Governor and President for all that's gone wrong. He commented during that interview that he is not on drugs and is thinking clearly. That's an odd thing for a mayor to feel he needs to mention, don't you think?

I can't source the post, as it was just stuff I picked up -- from O'Reilly, from other FReepers, from news sources I don't remember.

Therefore, I can't be 100% sure of what I have said, as I didn't research it firsthand and can't link to the firsthand source. And under those circumstances I don't think it should be posted as it's own article.

I was merely answering a question about what I'd learned.

Dead on article in your link at post 168.

But many people who are decent or disabled were caught up in the incompetence of New Orleans politicians.

Did you hear about them finding a nursing home in St. Bernard parish where all the 70 or so residents were dead...apparently drowned in the rising waters?

I have a bet on with another FReeper that the death toll will not go over 10,000.

I sure hope I don't lose it.

Yes, when that woman at the Astrodome vented her anger against "George W. Bush" she certainly didn't realize that the reason she has a nice airconditioned place to stay with food and drink and bathrooms and supplies is that "George W. Bush" most likely had a direct hand in arranging for her shelter in Texas and her transportation there.

I think Shep and Geraldo are emotional people who are having trouble handling the really terrible scenes they are seeing.

All the reporters are having this trouble. Some are handling it better. But all of them are getting useful information out, so I'm not going to carp.

They are doing what the wardheelers should have been doing.

I think part of what has been affecting the President is that he knows alot of the deaths and misery could have been prevented if the Governor of Louisiana and the Mayor of New Orleans had acted decisively before the hurricane hit, as he had urged.
