I went looking for the "banned one". It was early for me, about 6:30 am so I can't remember what the screen name was. I thought you were on that thread. It got to about 1,300 posts when I checked after work.

I wonder what keeps Bush from telling the country to go to he!!....he has done more for this country than so many other presidents and has taken this country out of the depths of despair, and all he gets is grief and lies told about him...just plain mean directed at him and nastiness.
Okay, I'm hoping you ask that because you're joking -- they are in deep water because the mayor and gov didn't use them to evacuate the city when they could have been used to get people out of NO before Katrina hit. Please see PatriciaRuth's post here:

I learned these things from a number of sources (mostly other FReepers), so this is a distillation of the work of other people than myself.
Yes, Bush did try to get them to evacuate NO. That declaration gave them the funds to do it. There wasn't much else he could do.
Our Constitution says that the states have control - I don't think any of us would really like to see the Feds being able to just take over anytime that they didn't like what the states do.
But I do hope that most of us think about this when we decide who to elect as Mayor or Governor. I really do think this shows what can happen if you have a weak Mayor and a weak Governor.
I really think this would have been very different if Rudy Giuliani had been NO Mayor.

It didn't start out that way. As I recall it started out as a thread about what Bush had to say before boarding Marine 1 from the WH.
It was a perfectly nice little thread until.......the seminar posters started in.

I hope that his critics appreciate that this is the largest rescue/aid effort in the history of this country and that the president had to have it mobilized in three days.
And yet the MSM elites, in their freshly pressed khaki shirts, still say he should be doing more. It's insane.
