Nagin is a loser. He'll be defeated next election. Prime campaign ammo: buses submerged with the caption. Buses? They were here, Mayor. You failed us.

Nagin should show up to the Convention Center. He would be lynched by his constituents.

LOL! Don't think there'll be voting in NO for years to come, if ever.

No way - he's just guaranteed himself a bright future in Dim politics. They're probably going to start coming out tomorrow to defend him, by accusing anyone who criticizes him of being a racist. Thery really don't have any choice. He'll play that card to the fullest and rack up 90+ percent of the vote the next time there's an election in that corner of the world.

Those Buses probibly still run.

Jabbar Gibson(18) took one from that lot, loaded it up with people(70) and drove all the way to the astro dome.

Personally I think Bush looked Nagin straight in the eye and told him to get his own "but" in gear.

only then did Nagin finally do something.

It was stupid and wrong but he did do something finally.

he was a better mayor up till Katrina was heading towards NO and Bush had to request he evacuate his City. The DA, Eddie Jordan has failed the City too. Crime had been steadily going up since he took office. Murders to be exact. I just hope NO gets a mayor, no matter what party, color, creed, etc., that they put the best interest of the City and its citizens before their own. I would like to know what Nagin was doing on Friday and Saturday as Katrina was heading his way. I hope it was setting up evacuation plans.

Somehow I don't think they'll be much left to be mayor over even by then.

Wonder how many of his constituents will be back in NO by the next election?

No he won't. You forgot Rush's golden rule of Democrat politics: The worse you perform, the more Democrats promote you.

WHAT election? Surely you don't think NO will be rebuilt in time for an election in the next few years. The city is dead. The lucky ones have fled. No sane person in the US will allow billions of tax dollars to put up the human warehouses called "The Projects" again. They should have been razed when St. Louis knocked down Cabrini Green, but of course, since the poor hostages inside provided the votes for Democrat politicians, this cesspool was allowed to produce the citizens who were looting, raping and murdering during this crisis. Rebuild a city half the size to the north of the old one, restore the port, and federalize the Gulf coast area of the old city as wetlands that can never be built on.
Had we only done this in the past, we would not be shamed before the world now and be stuck with billions of dollars of disaster relief.

I heard someone cursing up a storm yesterday, blasting the federal government for not ''fixing'' this problem fast enough. If this is the same guy '' the mayor'' he sounds like he's ''losing it''.Doesn't inspire much confidence.
