I agree. There is no avoiding it when they begin so soon to try to place blame elsewhere for their own failures.

Re: We didn't do this, but we must respond.

I agree . . we all have an obligation to set the record straight. Liberal lies don't fly for a reason. They're arguments are not bolstered by the facts on the ground.

Let's be honest. They're pissed about the 4.9% unemployment rate, and are looking for anything to distract from this good news.

Someone really needs to check my math, but running 224 vehicles, carrying approx. 60 people, 100 miles outside the city at 50 mph (round trip 200 miles, round trip time 4 hours) would take about 29-30 hours to move 100,000 people.

this does assume running the vehicles 24 hours/day, does not include load/unload time nor the time required to refuel the vehicles

Others will have a different count I'm sure but in the picture where the buses are parked in rows I counted 224. I didn't enlarge the photo to do the counting so I probably missed some at the edges. If we assume 40 passengers per bus that amounts to 8960 people per trip.

Absolutely disgusting waste of public resources....idiots.

On a thread yesterday, a freeper appeared to have found NO city statistics that showed there were somewhere in the vicinity of 300 school buses and 350 mass transit buses that the mayor and governor failed to utilize. I wish the person who found these numbers would start a whole tread just on this subject.

That is what was reported, days ago. Facts that are unimportant now since it's all the President's fault.

There is also the city buses, cabs, trains and other mass transit that could have been used...but those buses are only to be used to turn out the DUmocRAT voters on election day.

Exactly, the political landscape in this country could be adversely be affected for years if we don't defend President Bush in this matter. The Rats tried to tarnish Reagan's legacy with Iran-Contra, thankfully they didn't get away with it.

Let's be clear. More people could and should have been moved out of harms way. That much is obvious.

Re: they didn't get away with it.

They didn't get away with it because, at the time, there where people like those on this thread, that are willing to tell the truth, no matter how ignorant the argument being presented is.

It's easy for us to say "well, this lib is so far gone, why make an argument?" That's the easy way out, but it doesn't help the truth to be told.

Probably none of these buses were operational after the levee was breached

Not necessarily. The buses in the "215" picture are all front engine buses, probably in-line 6 cyl. engines. Unless the picture was taken before the water level reached its peak, the ignition components, air intakes, and fuel fillers of those buses are high and dry. Now, whether they would have to be driven through much deeper water to get to where they were needed is unknown, and there's no way to know how much fuel is in their tanks. But, as it appears in this picture, a vast majority of those buses are probably operational.
