The real story is that the funds that were cut would not have been spent on the 17th Street Canal or the Industrial Canal, they two that broke.

The President hasn't said much at all publicly, except to urge us to help.
She bleating far too much. I wonder how much money her family has funneled away from the state, money that was probably supposed to be used for disaster preparation, or levee maintenance.

These Louisiana politicians are all losing it on TV for a planned disaster! Incredible. The liberals have succeeded in making a huge section of our country utterly gutless and helpless.

This pic right here says it all.
Wish I could think of something humorous to say, but ya'll beat me to it. Let's keep exposing the truth!

Bush, vacationing at his ranch, was being regularly updated about the storm, And the head of the Hurricane Center had to call the MAYOR OF NEW ORLEANS at home on Saturday Night to BEG him to evacuate New Orleans.

I expect that Bush could KO her in one round. :)
He works out a lot and is in very good shape. Better than me for sure.

What Landrieu is doing also is starting the innoculation process. The Louisiana dems are already attempting to set the stage to intimidate anyone from criticizing any local or state officials. That means if there's any blame to be directed it has to be directed at the federal level since that's the only government body left.

Right, Mary, come out swinging. A good offense is the best defense (the commotion distracts people from seeing how you screwed up...)

Good for you.
It is essential to have a heart and a soul. But there are times when, in order to survive, you must not wear it on your sleeve. The President actually does a heck of a job at this, and he is a very emotional man.

If the good senator fails to recognize how chain of command works - she needs to vadate here seat!
"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week." So I hope she blacks both here eyes as she beats the hell out of herself if she is going to be beating on those that are part of the problem.

Love your tagline. Also read a good line about nuts the other day: She's as nutty as squirrel's turd.

But she's not liberal! She's the conservative Democrat from Louisiana! At least, that's what the media tells me. Just whatever you do, don't check her voting record.

This is just a ploy on the RATS part to make the country think that he has. It is pretty lame and as a women I am offended by how these women in power behave. Just distgusting.

The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."
Seems Ms. Landrieu just had a photo-op of her own.
Here is a taste of what Mrs. Landrieu's buddy Billy Clintoon did in 1995 thru 2000 for flood conrol in New Orleans:
US Left: All Straws Clutched, Every Barrel Scraped [via blogger GEA3]
Feb. 1995:
Clinton administration officials argue that the flood-control efforts are local projects, not national, and should be paid for by local taxes.
June 1995:
The Clinton administration is holding back a Corps of Engineers report recommending that the $120 million project proceed.
.... the project "is not consistent with the policies and budget priorities reflected in the President's Fiscal Year 1996 budget. Accordingly, I will not forward the report to the Office of Management and Budget for clearance."
Sept. 2000: President Clinton is promising to veto the annual appropriation for the Energy Department and Army Corps of Engineers, not because it is $890 million larger than he proposed, but because it does not include a plan to alter the levels of the Missouri River to protect endangered fish and birds.
And this: Ten years ago today, the Bonneaus and hundreds of thousands of New Orleans area residents rode out a rain unlike any they had ever experienced. The flood killed six people and generated more claims than any in the history of the National Flood Insurance Program. In its aftermath, Congress created a new role for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and federal and local governments spent more than a half-billion dollars to widen and line drainage canals, bury culverts bigger than cars and beef up pumping stations.
Did this solve the problem? No. And it will take many times 1/2 billion dollars to clean the mess up.

Your post causes me pause and think about this.
The President's job is to respond to personal attacks? And from whomever? Landreau? Sheehan? Move-on?
Or his job to do.. his job?
I think the task of dealing with the Landreau jab, for example, belongs to the people who support President Bush's works.
The Lib-Dems can't stop the successes of President Bush, and these successes are numerous. What libs do is the "engage by dialog". This is part and parcel of their "non-violence"metholodogy and tactics.
They are trying, always, to taunt him to "engage" with them.
They are like little kids in a playground and lonely for attention, so they resort to trying to get negative attention. And in this manner are they trying to divert his attention away from HIM DOING REAL THINGS. ACCOMPLISHING REAL THINGS.
I see it often, from conservatives -- this thinking that if the President goes on "offensive" ("Oh, Finally") and slams these juvenile "dialogers" that somehow this will work out better for "Bush". Libs are just trying to grow "the talking points issue", and here's President Bush giving them nothing to fester on. My, my...
Fact is, he's not running for President Again. And the Dems are only going after those in Republican Party they think "might" RUN for the office. They've no longer got sell-outs and intel into what the Republicans have planned. So, they play the "taunt" game.
The Man, President Bush, means what he is says: Liberty and Freedom are up to each of us.
Not a single one of us, here, wanna see a Dem take the office of President, next term. But if it comes, I'll still be fighting the good fight. No matter what.
That's the lesson I take away from Katrina -- people do choose to condemn themselves. So can a country, and by how they vote.
Bush Admin has done a great job of clearing a lot of matters up, quietly doing the good work.
So, let's imagine a Dem becomes President. Is he/she going to immediate demand Withdrawl of troops from Iraq or elsewhere around the world? Going to immediate rescind the tax cuts to each and every taxpayer? Going to rescind the President's tort reform and medical reform policies?
Or just talk us all to death...?

MY GOD! This video is disgusting! This should be sent out to every single media outlet. Did I hear them say that the governor said it was okay to loot as long as it was non-violent? I'm sure that little gas powered car was a necessity.

Vote Republican, you LIFE could depend on it!
Who was the black representative on the program a little later? He was well spoken and not willing to place any blame except maybe at the feet of bureaucracy. He did not even take the race bait from Steppanolopuss.
