Yes, he DOES need to address this TODAY, and DIRECTLY, but you and I both know that he won't----in characteristic uniter- not- divider form he's already got his head hung sheepishly down and accepting a significant part of the blame. I had no idea at the beginning he was such putty in the hands of his detractors, such a latent masochist. This is going to do him in, and sorry to say, he deserves it if he can't find the steel to lay the blame where it belongs. Maybe he feels his "spokesmen" will do it for him. They will try, but it will be too little, too late.

Agree entirely. Bush's whole problem is that he honestly believes that sweet reason will prevail with these people. It never does; or if it does, it does so way too late to do any good.

He's got to remember that his permitting these nutcases to get away with their ravings is a great disservice to the people of LA. It's not just about him.

Wrong. What a waste of the President's time in the middle of a catastrophe (wherein he is bailing out NO officials from their lack of "planning") to even address Landreau's comments.

No. He doesn't need to address this. She's toast. And, she's done it to herself.
