I'm not sure the guy writing that blog has sound judgment. Here's what I just read there:

Law enforcement have absolutely lost their minds. Some guy wearing khaki fatigues and black vests which say Police on them have their faces covered in black ski masks and are touting M4-A1s with front hand grips -- like they're some kind of Delta Force operators waiting to hit the tire house. They're guarding the four corners around the Bell South building for crying out loud. And what, they need secret identities? Come on. You can just tell some of these guys have never gotten out before. Now's their big chance to play Army.

The BellSouth building contains switches (still operating, for now) which are absolutely crucial to communications in the Deep South states. If some thugs decided to torch it, the loss would take down communications that are now back up and running, but this time for months rather than days. And why isn't it reasonable for the guys guarding that building to mask their faces, given the number and viciousness of some of the young thugs still wading around down there? Hell, it would've been reasonable for cops to mask their faces before Katrina around the Desire area or just a couple of blocks from the French Quarter.

I can verify that a number of executive protection assignments have already been bid out to the private sector for work in N.O. Not sure if that's the case here, but a number of these people may have very good reason for concealing their identities.

Heck, I used to try and conceal my identity everytime I went to NO, and that was just for Mardi Gras....

Joe...I had a 122lb German Shepherd till last year when he died....a great dog, gentle and loving to the family but VERY aggressive to strangers...He was HUGE even by Shepherd standards....never nuetered....

Since then I've done rescue adoptions for Rotweillers (currently have two), they are a great breed and less aggressive than the Shepherds I've had...

Raising a beer to your dog and all the great dog's I've owned!
Hear! Hear!

Exactly who are you masking your face from? I agree with Barnett. It's not as if they're hiding in the woods trying to blend in. Sounds like a few cops, fed gov types, whoever, that are trying to look more important than they actually are and playing Army

They could be local guys who don't want to be recognized walking down the street two years from now by some local thug holding a grudge and Glock.

Timber's dad was a slovak import...almost all black and weighed about a buck and a quarter. T goes about 105-110 depending on how recently he ate.

I volunteer at the local no kill shelter and we have a Rott, Samson, that has some shoulder and neck problems due to an abusive puppyhood. During this hot weather I'll spend a lot of time brushing out the dogs there, and as you can imagine, the combination of sweat and dog hair is extremely bothersome. I can always count on Samson to lick my face clean between dogs....;-). If I had the room at home, he'd be there, too.

My ex wife had two Maltese...that pose is certainly familiar to me....They were comical; I thought of them as living muppets.

Don't take too much abuse from the guy's on this thread with big dogs...

My two Rot's are terrified of my wife's 6lb toy Shi-Tzu...That dog rules the house.....or at least thinks he does...

LOL
