From the link: Penn had planned to rescue children waylaid by Katrina's flood waters,

Only children? He would have passed by adults in distress? Well, I guess he only had room for tiny children in his boat.

Sally,

Someone posted this on another thread:

"John Siegenthaler told Rita Crosby (MSNBC) that he had just seen Sean Penn and Historian Douglas Brinkley in a boat on a rescue mission in the Garden District."

Apparently it's true. But I gotta say, if I hadn't seen the pictorial proof, reading that sentence sounds like someone's bad acid trip.

We have only their word for it.
Isn't he a PETA nut?
How do we know he wasn't just throwing a drink of clean water to a thirsty gator?

Spicoli learned a valuable lesson, rescuing people is best left to professionals ...

Well, I saw him on FoxNews a couple times in the past week, and dang, this is the spitting image. If you Google Brinkley, you'll only find older, slimmer pics.

If it is Brinkley, it just completes another circle [jerk]. The man was a flak for Kerry and his swift boat escapades, and now he's latched onto loser boy Penn. Maybe Brinkley can spin a yarn good enough to win Penn some kind of medal... maybe from the Scientology rescue workers or something.

Brinkley also showed up at Hunter Thompson's recent funeral party where they shot his sorry remains out of a cannon.

I think it's awfully funny that you can see him ducking in the first photo. Guess by then he realized the stunt was turning into a Category 4 disaster.

Good catch, I think that is Brinkley. He's buddies with Sailor Sean. Also noticed in the larger photo that Sailor Sean is in the Garden District. Yeah, there's a lot of poor children their in need of rescue.

Notice the guy behind Penn when he is baling. Then notice the guy behind him in the other pictures. Not the same guy. Did the first guy lose confidence and jump ship?
