What's ridiculous about it? As Trotsky said so eloquently in 1918, the people of New Orleans are "voting with their feet" against corruption. Do you think enough of the Nawlins Diaspora will concentrate in another city in sufficient quantity to change its local politics? With the possible exception of Detroit, the answer would have to be "no." Furthermore, would the corruption of Louisiana politics be tolerated in another, better-ordered state? I don't think so.

There will be a New Orleans, but it's going to be a smaller city.
