The changing demographics of migration will hurt the democrats as the neighboring states are ALL heavy republican voting blocs. If they lose the heavy democratic stronghold of New Orleans, those who moved to say, Texas to vote, will not affect that state's heavy republican votes. This is the real panic behind the democtratic rhetoric...They simply cannot afford to lose 300,000 black votes!
Dang! that never occurred to me. No wonder the Dems are screaming about the FEMA response. They want to poison the water, wherever these folks go.
It is interesting that you say the changing deographics of migration will hurt Dems. I was talking with someone this morning who thinks Dems will encourage migration to states where Republicans won by only slim margins, and try to move them into the blue column. Of course, none of us knows how the life changing upheaval will affect voting patterns. We may see some political conversions!
