Texas is much nicer. Really.
Washington is horribly grey and rainy throughout the fall, winter, and spring, causing depression in a large part of the population. Not only that but the cost of living is out of control and we are at risk for a major earthquake.
He, he. I don't know about that. I've seen some pretty nice ears of corn there. I think you're holdin' back on us.
No Texas is not nicer for permanent settlers. We're hot, humid, and full of rattlesnakes.
Ditto Kansas. Now Detroit, DC, NYC, and California, those are real paradises, and if I was a NO refugee (sorry, "citizen"), I'd make a beeline for one of them.
I'd just like to point out that Nebraska has lots and lots of tornadoes,>>>>>>>>
South Carolina has low wages, high unemployment, tornadoes, hurricanes, thunderstorms, blizzards (check the records), record size hail (check the records), mosquitoes, swamps, alligators, serial killers (check the records), Yankees (the coast is overrun with them) who know absolutely everything about everything that us dumb Southerners cannot comprehend, high rates of diabetes, stroke, heart disease, you name it. Only someone totally desperate would move to this state.
Tricksy, aren't you?
