Minnesota is deathly cold in the winter, has lots of tornadoes in the summer and and there is no music scene here unless you count the annoying peice of shit that likes to give people unwanted "free" rap concerts on the train.

There was an article posted about this just a couple weeks ago.
Shrinking Detroit has 12,000 abandoned homes

On the surface, it may look like a great Homestead opportunity for industrious refugees. Give them clear title to the abandoned homes along with the materials they'll need to fix and repair them. The downside is, with the continued outsourcing and offshoring of the automotive industry and suppliers, it may be difficult to find employment in the Detroit area.
