"Now they'll see some real racism."

At the risk of being called a bigot, I must respectfully disagree. The New Orleans "refugees" just may find life better in their adopting cities. Or, if they are the welfare cases that some think they are, the coming "payments" for the disaster that some Black leaders are suggesting (like the payments to 9-11 families) may lead to a whole new cycle of welfare-ism in new localities. Time and events will tell.

Some may do better, but I'd say alot will end up in the big city projects that are already full of crime and will be no better off.

As someone with at least a bit of knowledge about the corrupt, ward-heeling, nepotistic, cronyistic city of NO, I have this to offer.

The political landscape of Lousiana will be forever changed, and this is a good thing. Blanco was nothing but a place-holder, never a leader. The fat cats in NO who by the way, never hesitated to play the race card if it got democrats elected are now looking elsewhere.

As far a Nagin goes, he was all about facade and nothing about leadership, and it showed didn't it?

Maybe there is a silver lining in this cloud, that is if the good people of Lousiana have the stones to finally defeat the democrat machine.

My hubby and I were discussing the same thing today. These folks might find their new homes better than their old one. It might break the habit some of them have developed in their lives and actually give them a new start. I'm sure there will always be those on welfare but for others this might be a good thing in the end.
