I seriously doubt that Blacks that have fought for and gotten a decent education and worked their butts off caring for their families were looting. The Blacks deeply entrenched in religion also are not the ones looting, regardless of economical situation. Of course, this goes for whites who ride the gravy train as well.
It isn't race as much as it is character and class. White or Black, some have worked to earn what is theirs and some haven't. Low class is not restricted to any race.
Have you seen the movie "The History of White People"?

The same destruction (or worse) happened in largely white southern Mississippi and looting was minimal, however Gov. Barber got tough up front and nipped the small amount of looting in the bud.

I agree. I honestly do not have an answer. I think it's simply a liberal cultural assumption to believe that genetics and culture are unrelated. I think that both arguments should be considered. In this case I admire both parties. This argument is sort of a modern twist on the old predestination/free will debate which is also interesting to me.
Certainly there is a lot of artifice in a more complex advanced culture, but it stretches credulity to say that physical aspects of persons are genetic but personalities are not. Cultures cultivate certain aspects of personality which in turn can affect a culture if it is dynamic enough. Intellect is another ball of wax and is dependent, I think more on the person.
And it helps to keep an open mind, and not condemn all for the actions of some.

that is the perspective of age-of-enlightenment liberal science. Race at one time meant what ethnicity means today. I do not know of anyone without a culture, so how can it not in some way be genetic?
So, are Cameron Diaz and Cheech Marin two different "races", or two different "ethnicities"?
This was a cultural issue that has been bred into many via very vile people who understand that lack of education, lack of ethical and moral training coupled with poverty provide an excellent voter base that can be manipulated, kept angry and kept down.
The chains of low expectation have hurt so many people in our culture.
Wish I could talk to the author of the essay, Leighton Levy, and ask him how long it is going to be before the black population in our nation give poverty pimps and race baiters like jesse jackson, al sharpton, sheila jackson lee, maxine waters and on and on and on...the BIG HEAVE HO.
The Welfare State brings out the worst in people no matter the color of their skin. Black people are NOT cursed with a genetic predisposition to steal, murder, and create mayhem.
