I'll take a 4.5% VAT over a 30% NRST any day. The lower percentage makes it less likely that sales will be conducted nalevo, meaning underground. However, the tax will be imposed at ALL points of sale, not just retail.

And for the record, the current progressive income tax can go jump off a high bridge, for all I care...
