While the prime minister announced Thursday a reform of income tax for 2007, the reduction of direct taxes comes only in fourth place in the priorities that the government should set...

They're delaying what could turn their economy around in favor of spending more and more. Dems probably think that'll be their savior. And some 'Pubbies here must be just as dim.

the reduction of direct taxes comes only in fourth place in the priorities that the government should set, this topic being cited by 45% of respondents. More curiously, among managers the topic of income tax reduction follows up the rear (32%), a long way behind purchasing power (66%), the fight against relocations of industry (52%), and the reduction of public spending (57%).

The responses to this survey reveal that over 50% of managers in France don't understand basic free market economics, nor have they ever indulged themselves in a thorough critique of their Gaullist Socialist economic policies. In a country of their size, they have simply eliminated entire strains of economics' thought from disseminating throughout their society. And it's a matter of national policy. Worst yet, the pollsters asked questions with multiple choice responses that don't jive with a functional free market. France has only a few years left before the only remedy to their economic hemorrhaging will be a complete collapse of their economy, and a cleansing of their society's leadership cadres.
