The police should handle this

The New Orleans police should have handled the mob rule, too.

Hey, pass out some Penicillin and warn people not to drink the water. It's like living in the woods.

"Nagin's useless "orders" are becoming comedic."

Nagin is a comedian! Can you imagine Rudy sending his police force to Las Vegas while what was left of the towers, still smoldered ? Go on vacation and leave it to the military to do the "dirty work". I'm glad the troops won't participate. Geesh, what's wrong with this guy?

Does anyone know much about Nagin? Does he have a family? Is he gay? The foaming, spitting, raging, cursing -- it is all so unattractive.

Let THEM appear in pictures broadcast around the world forcibly dragging people from their homes!

Exactly. It would be disastrous to send the military in to get people out.

I can see allowing the fools to stay with a stern warning: If you try to trespass upon others property, you will be arrested immediately.

There is no doubt some of these people who will not leave are risking their lives to continue looting.

The police all ran to Houston the catch a plane for Vegas.

A number of New Orleans police patrol cars have been spotted in Houston since Hurricane Katrina struck — several of which are now being stored in HPD parking lots, officials said.

Details about how the patrol cars arrived in Houston remained sketchy , more than a week after the devastating storm caused major flooding in the city.

"To our knowledge, (the patrol cars) have been driven by New Orleans police officers," said Lt. Robert Manzo, an HPD spokesman.

New Orleans police commanders are aware that several of their patrol cars are now in Houston, Manzo said.

"We were told not to stop them and we were told that these cars were not reported stolen," Manzo said.

The patrol cars apparently were taken by New Orleans police officers as they evacuated the city, officials said.

"That was the only mode of transportation," Manzo said. New Orleans police officials "are not interested in pursuing any charges against (the drivers.)"

The military should air drop the following items to the liberals who refuse to evacuate:

1. Body bag
2. Magic marker
3. Toe tag

I heard one story early last week that a sheriff in gulf area AL or MS was giving people a 'toe tag' card, if they refused to leave. He told them that, due to the size and nature of the impending disaster, that was all they could expect to get for a long while. That gesture apparently changes many 'stayers' minds, as they packed up and left -- and survived.

I bet you that developers are starting to circle. Nagin's got visions of emminent domain dancing in his head. And if there's nobody to protest their homes and neighborhoods being bulldozed for commercial development, so much the better.

I have been telling my wife that we should think about buying some property. She pointed out that Nagin and his cronies would never allow anyone to get any good land.

Does that qualify them for disaster relief assistance? Since they weren't directly hit?

But what if local police try to stop the military? Oh, I forgot, the local police is in Vegas.

LOL. I'd like to see those wimps try to take on the US military.

I am having a hard time keeping count. Is this the third, fourth, or fifth mandatory evacuation order for New Orleans?

Is this the first "mandatory evacuation order?"
Compared to prior "mandatory" "evacuation orders"
