If this was a rescue by US troops, I'm hoping that most of the captors are "newly deceased".

...a cozy comforter, some fluffy pillows and a soft bed........

I think I'd just collapse at hearing this news if this had been my dad.

Released? or rescued by our guys? I'm hearing two different versions...

I find it hard to believe he was released.

A U.S. contractor who has been held captive in Iraq since 2004 has been rescued by U.S. troops, according to CNN. Roy Hallums has been in captivity since Nov. 1, 2004.

Roy Hallums' ex-wife, Susan Hallums, said she spoke with the father of her children Wednesday morning and that he was free and alive. She said he is free, after being held for more than 300 days.

Thank you for posting the good news.

To be fair, once CNN got the complete story out, their headline was "American Hostage Rescued in Iraq" - the next page said "American, Iraqi Captives Freed in Iraq" - so they did have good things to say about the military.

But their breaking news headline just said he was free - at that point, they probably didn't know how yet....

***

The Fox article I'm reading says, "coalition forces."

But regardless....a major salute and thank you to the ones who rescued Mr. Hallums.

And Praise the Lord he's safe.

Same for the unidentified Iraqi who also released or rescued.
