Bucket with hole in bottom is as useless as this survey.

Assuming 5 minutes per call it would take 10 people a year of 40 uninterrupted hours per week to poll 241000 people. I smell something fishy.

In other news: water is wet!
Sounds like some researchers were looking for an easy grant and found one....

To prevent duplication, please do not alter the heading. Thanks.

Possibly the respondents are telling on their neighbors as well? That is where all this stuff is heading.

My adult children were raised around loaded unlocked guns and taught how and when to use them. I live in the suburbs but am not rural. I grew up in a home with lots of guns. They were never kept loaded, but the guns and ammo were always available.
I started shooting a bb gun at age 6 and at twelve got an over and under 20 gage/22 rifle for my birth day.
My buddies and I went hunting a lot.. Rabbit, squirrel, and pheasant hunting was something we all did.
I felt kind of cheated because my Dad got his first Shotgun at age 10. But by the time I was a boy, 10 was considered to young for a boy to have his own weapon.
I doubt there were more than 3 or 4 boys out of the 120 or so in my middle school that did not have a gun by the time he finished the 8ht grade.
No one ever got shot and no one was killed. Yes, boys tended to get into fist fights now and again. But there was no danger anyone was going to shoot anyone.
Perhaps it is our societies attempts to suppress masculinity that results in lots of killing. I know for a fact it is not the presence or absence of guns.

And yet, the MSM can't figure out why their viewership and subscriber base is dwindling. Amazing!

How many people under 21 are there in the USA? (What percentage is the 1.7 million)
What is the accident rate by state?
How could they have phone surveyed that many people? Did anybody here get called? I did not nor did anyone I know.
I may have missed it in the article, but who paid for this?

I wonder how they define "children".
Don't know about this study but Handgun Control claims about kids death NEVER tell you that 85% of those they cite are beteween the ages of 15 and 19 ( Gang bangers settling problems )

Re your post #39, that reminds me of why it would be helpful if the poster--if she or he has the information--would provide the email address of the author of pieces such as this.

Am I the only one who thinks it strange that the Centers for Disease Control tracks weapons and associated injuries? Firearms wounds are a disease?!! Good grief!

Highest: 63 percent in Wyoming had firearms in the home. Lowest: 5 percent had guns at home in the District of Columbia, which has long-standing bans on handguns and semiautomatic weapons.
Lets hav sum FUN. Compare crime stats!

Either that or they averaged 7.? kids per household.
I suspect the numbers came out of the author's behind. Even if they are accurate it is not an alarming number.

Each year, at each of my three kid's annual physicals, the doctor asks us "do you have any guns in your home?"
I always answer, truthfully, "several", because we have a personal relationship with her and she's a big liberal. I get a kick out of seeing the shocked look on her face. I really want to say "BOO!", just to see how high she can jump, but so far I haven't had the nerve to do it.
