It's great that FNC is getting the story out, but this was actually broken on CNN five days ago. Marty Evans, the president of the Red Cross, told the exact same thing to Larry King on his Friday show. I guess it is an indication of how few people watch Larry King that everyone is taking this as a just breaking story

And it shows just how feverishly CNN dealt with it.

Many Officials in Louisiana are in some Deep Big Time Trouble.

We could end up seeing a Baby Doc style exit from power, complete with armored limos carrying the Governess and her family to a waiting airplane, and off to assylum.

I suspect that if congress organizes an inquiry, not even the likes of Teddy Kennedy and Chuckie Schumer can keep these awkward facts from being introduced.

Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Howie Dean and all of the national 'Rats need to FRY for this.... but will they? Here they have been running a non-stop vicious smear campaign in the middle of this huge crisis, and the public will now learn (let's hope!) that the 'Rat Governor and the 'Rat Mayor could not tie their own shoelaces in the morning.... no wonder Hillarity is so desperate to try to make the 'investigation' limited to federal activities..... they are so desperate to keep all attention away from the state and city but the smear campaign should fall apart now. Still, never underestimate the ability of the MSM to change the subject, ignore and/or fabricate facts, etc.

Yet again the 'Rats make their bed, and then refuse to lay in it.

Nevertheless they are going to pay a price for the finger pointing and blame shifting. Less of one, granted, as elections are more than a year away, but I can't believe Joe Average isn't seething (or being sickened) by their outrageous rhetoric. Most Americans -- who aren't political partisans -- expect public officials to cooperate, reach-out and work together at a time like this. The blame game can wait till people are safe and rebuilding is underway.

Bush is smart enough to understand this. Even when he has to roll over or work around incompetents and idiots like Blanco and Nagin to get the job done, and even when they prove to be backstabbing ingrates, Bush will still maintain every appearance of genial cooperation.

But Bush is just a dummy, right? That's what the 'Rats still appear to believe. Funny thing is the smarter the 'Rats get, and the dumber Bush gets, the more elected posts shift from the blue column to the red. Eventually the 'Rats will get so smart they'll cease to exist altogether.

Your right, about the MSM. But the more the RATS overplay their hand the more I think(I hope) they are exposed for the truly vicious people they are. They don't give a darn about these people, they are simply using this to pile on Bush. They make me so sick......What class our President has,I'm sure he being an ex Governor(I always forget that) knew what the story was from the beginning. But of course has not bad mouthed her at all. He just keeps taking all the cr-p they're throwing his way. Maybe thats why he wants the investigation so all of it will come out.By the way I won't watch CNN, I wonder if this story is being broadcast on their pathetic network? Anybody see it yet?

Maybe she was getting her legal advise from Judge Greer?

Hurricane Katrina: Why is the Red Cross not in New Orleans?

Access to New Orleans is controlled by the National Guard and local authorities and while we are in constant contact with them, we simply cannot enter New Orleans against their orders.

The STATE Homeland Security Department had requested--and continues to request--that the American Red Cross not come back into New Orleans following the hurricane. Our presence would keep people from evacuating and encourage others to come into the city.

"Many Officials in Louisiana are in some Deep Big Time Trouble."

Nah, the locals will stand behind them. Just check out the stories in the Times Picayune and WWL to get an idea of how the locals view this. I can see how someone would think that if the local politicians are abusing the constituents that those poor folks would be happy for the "cops" to show up and haul off the politicians, but this is really more like a domestic dispute and when the "cops" show up those squabbling will all stand by each other. Just watch. It's been this way for 300 years in this part of the country.
