Almost makes you wonder if they wanted to get rid of their poor and maybe even their criminals. A lot of them died, and the ones who survived got shipped off to other states--sort of like Cuba's Mariel boatlift.

And free up a lot of in town real estate at the same time

It's hard to get out in front of it when you have 95% of the MSM trying to get you.

Where is the Republican response....I WANT TO KNOW....Bush has led them through 3 victories and they never, ever come out of their holes to defend him when the rats attack...

Exactly. He also needs a much stronger voice in the press secretary position. The time is now to fight back. The president must stay on the high road, but someone has got to fight back.

Dog, it wasn't just food and water that Louisiana state officials refused to let through to the hurricane victims in N.O. -- it was DOCTORS too...

Red tape strands medical aid for Katrina victims
(Louisiana officials blocked team of doctors from coming to aid of desperately ill New Orleanians)

The critical information is buried deep in this article -- not mentioned until the second to last paragraph.

Thank you Clancy for putting into words the uneasy feeling I've been having about this entire scenario in LA.

"And I think Hillary was behind it all pulling the strings. We should check Blanco's phone/fax/email records!"

If Blanco isn't the stupidest person on earth and she let those people suffer to hurt Bush, then someone very high up has promised to cover her butt. And that brings us to the hearings......

And you're probably right!

Is this story here to stay? I'm getting annoyed that Fox isn't yelling this from the mountaintops. Was it on Brit Hume? It certainly, much like the National Guard story, isn't on BOR. Come on, FNC. Do not drop the ball on this.

It's amazing. For fun, sometimes I'll go watch CNN or MSNBC just to see the new Bush bashing stories they are running this hour. They are still spinning stories based on the Feds didn't get food/water in and caused all the suffering. They have got to know this story is out there but the continue with the stories based on lies. Just simply amazing.

I addressed this the night before last, in my vanity "A Memo to All Sunshine Soldiers." The White House can't get into a shouting match with the press right now (especially with Scott McClellan as press secretary, one decision that I vehemently disagree with the President about).

In the case of Bill Clinton, you will remember that his minions in the press, his advisors, and Republican office holders defended him no matter how awful the charges were.

President Bush only has the grass roots to stick up for him, as the office holders and the pundits are COWARDS!!

No matter what you think of polls they do show a steady erosion of support. If we tout the polls when he is at 90% we can't ignore the polls that show him at 40%. I'm not talking about the who is to "blame" but he is getting whacked on leadership and handling of the crisis. I don't think we can sit back and think that 24/7 attacks on the president aren't affecting him or will not affect us in 2006 or 2008. Even prior to Katrina he was getting pummelled on the war effort. I still stand by my statement that the communications department in the WH is awful

Blah. blah, blah.

Same old same, give up the ghost because you beleive phony polls and the MSM and blame the White House, while you sit back and do nothing but complain.

Memo to self, throw you outta of the foxhole, because as bullits are flying all around you'll be there doing nothing but complaining.

BTW, say hi to hillary at the DNC basement.

We're going to have to do that for him. We're going to have to make sure that everyone we know, our families, friends, co workers all know exactly what's been going on.

If I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd start believing that the state really did want those people dead.

And if I were a conspiracy theorist, didn't have my tinfoil hat on, and were consuming large quantities of Mountain Dew and Pop-rocks, I would think that they wanted those people dead, but still on the rolls for voting in the next election!

Yesterday, I believe the story was about the Red Cross; today when I watched Fox News, it was about the Salvation Army -- they had someone from the Salvation Army in uniform on camera saying substantially what is said at the head of this thread.

Of course, the story is really about Louisiana politicians.
