Those same thoughts keep coming back into my mind too.

That is probably why people refuse to leave their homes. The homes will be looted and taken over by gangs who will confiscate the whole area. No one will be able to get back in or the area will be condemned. Then "they" will buy the land for cents on the dollar and use the disaster rebuilding funds to pay for their enlargement of the casino/entertainment empire.

Now - could it possibly be that a mayor and governor would be part of a massive land re-use scheme?

In a corrupt state, nothing is too far out.

The state people need to cause an uproar over this, demand recalls, and clean house of the government.

I agree. I smell the proverbial rat. People are helpless, and the predators are circling. The predators are the criminals and the politicians.

My thinking as well. There's a real stink in the air with these people, and something malevolent is cooking.
