Sordid racial politics
Townhall ^ | 9/9/05 | David Limbaugh

It used to be that Democrats just nodded in tacit agreement among themselves that conservatives were racially insensitive. They wouldn't just come right out and call conservatives racist unless you backed them into a corner. But many of them believed it.

But now, it's not just the fringe loonies in our university indoctrination incubators or the race-hustling black activists who come right out and make these charges. No less a party figure than Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean has all but said it directly, and last time I checked, he was in no jeopardy of losing his leadership position.

Wednesday, speaking to the Baptists' Political and Social Justice Commission, Dean said, "We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived [Katrina] and who did not." Meanwhile Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid insinuated that President Bush was too busy vacationing to respond to the disaster.

Few things can be more verbally destructive to the social fabric of our society than for opportunistic politicians to make such incendiary charges. Is there no depth of incivility to which they will not descend in their quest to regain power on the carcasses of their political opponents?

It's bad enough that they falsely attribute any failures in the federal response to Katrina, the nature and extent of which are still unknown, to President Bush's presumed racism and lack of compassion for the disproportionately black and poor victims. But what about the blacks and the poor themselves?

There is simply no polite way to say this, but the people who claim to have a monopoly on racial egalitarianism and human compassion are, with their false claims, doing immeasurable harm to the blacks and downtrodden they pretend to champion by incessantly dividing us along racial and economic lines.

It's time for a moratorium on our usual genteel, kid-gloves non-reaction to this ideological defamation. When major players in the Democratic Party spew such bile, they should be called to the carpet as should all other Democrat leaders who refuse to denounce their rancid attacks.

While it may strike us as unseemly and inappropriate to dignify the charges with a response, at some point we're going to have to quit pretending this ugly subject will die a natural death. Far too many people have bought into the propaganda.

Just today I read two separate essays, one by a self-styled crusader against racism, and another by a columnist at a major university, who both treated it as a foregone conclusion that any insufficiencies in the federal response were due to racism on the part of the president. The university writer essentially argued, with astonishingly unreflective certainty, that political conservatism is inherently racist.

I too have had this charge parrotted to me by Liberal Friends and Family. I have pointed out to them the primary beneficiaries of the evac order were what race? Yes the majority of New Orleans Blacks. Second what race is primarily involved in the rescue operations risk their lives and health? Yes old Whitey the Crackers risking their lives braving gun fire from what Race? Yes Blacks. Who is the primary culprit of the Crime problems vs. Blacks? Yes you got it Blacks. Fred Reed wrote an interesting article about the crime problem. You can go to his web site www.freeoneverything.net. He was a Crime Reporter in DC for a number of years.

He is living in Mexico now. Former Marine, and expat Crumudgeon. I love his common sense something absent in today's PC America. I may join him expat if this crap keeps up. What race is primarily donating money, time, and their resources? Yes those Whiteys or Crackers depending on your point of view. The Race Baiters who I call Race Pimps are loving this as they believe they can guilt Americans into paying for Reparations another boondoogle. My response is kiss my hairy arse.

Last time I checked, NO was 70% Black so it is to be expected that the large majority of victims are Black. What I don't see being reported is the rank incompetence of the Mayor and his chief administrative members. The bulk of the problems stem from their missteps (Lack of adherence to plans, failure to utilize existing and available resources to evacuate people, failure to maintain ANY security and, finally, failure to put in place any communications or to communicate with outside assistance about the location and needs of people they had told to come to the Convention Center or Superdome). The Police Chief is a real piece of work and on a par with our chief in Detroit.

BTW, I keep seeing untold numbers of 'families' replete with numerous children, the Mother and, at times, the Grandmother. What is lacking in many instances is the Father. Perhaps this has something to do with the poverty and failure to get out in time? Just wondering. Oh, and yes, the fact of the fractured Black family is Bush's fault, or at the least, a nefarious plot by FEMA to discriminate in it's assistance /sarc

"What I don't see being reported is the rank incompetence of the Mayor and his chief administrative members."

It is considered insensitive to point out the failings of any black and any who does so risks being accused of racism. Still, to any honest observer, their incompetence is obvious.

It's time for conservatives to do the obvious: Anytime someone calls someone a racist, we should immediately turn it back on them with the charge that, "No, sir. It is YOU who are projecting your own racis tendancies in an effort to assuage YOUR own subconscious guilt. It is conservatives who've been doing the bulk of the work in helping people to succeed in the American dream."

It might not always work, and it might not be immediately effective.

But I am quite sure that if we as conservites do it EVERY TIME, again and again and again, these race pimps will themselves get tired of hearing it, and they might even begin to understand the logic as the truth, which it is.

HELLOOOOOO?!? Howard??? In case you never realized it. skin color, age and economics play a major role in determining who survives the socialist utopia you morons have created in the inner cities and their "school" systems.

Howard Dean is crazy as a loon. The Democrats are letting him do their dirty work for them.

Stretch: The Old Geezer here:
All of this hate by the liberals can be placed entirely on the shoulders of hillary and bill clinton... They rule the democratic party... They set the tone... they set the talking points... AND then, they sit back and say nothing. Their silence is means that they approve of everything that is said by their minions. When one of their followers happens to say something that upsets the conservatives excessivly, she will then meekly speak out, merely saying: "I disagree with my close friend on this or that issue, but I forever support their freedom of speech to do so. Not only she and bill control the liberal party in this country, but meed frequently with other liberal world leaders to discuss their evil plans to regain power, and destroy our entire cullture.

Howard Dean, a paragon of the soft racism of lower expectations, spews vile but calculated Molotov accusations at the Right. The Repubs should call for his resignation. When that is not forthcoming they should blame Dean and the Dems for every bit of racial violence which will occur.

I believe in the axiom that you fight fire with fire. As Dean, Jackson, Reid, et.al.; continue to put forth the idea the the Republicans are racist, it behooves Pres. Bush, Mr. Frist, McCain,Warner, and other leaders of the Republican Party to really show the American public the continued failures of the Democratic Party. How many examples do you need to show what liberal policies created in New Orleans, Waco, and Elian Gonzalas? It is way past time to get really p.o'ed at the MSM, and start naming names, papers, etc. Why act like they keep acting, as if none of this stuff really matters. If we allow the Dems to keep telling their lies long enough, the public will begin to believe them pretty damn quick, as we are seeing now!
