I don't know whether either of you know of a way I can send a personal note of thanks to the Iraqi's for their warmth and generousity so I'm going to post it here.

Honorable Col. Abbas Fadhil,

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and thanks for the donation made by your troops for the people affected by the hurricane Katrina.

Please know we understand the sacrifice many of you made in order to donate. Your donation has touched the hearts and minds of many of the American people. May your kindness and caring be returned a thousandfold to the Iraqi people.

Just as your donation will be used to help the victims of the hurricane, I pray America's assistance to Iraq will help to rebuild an Iraq into the jewel it's meant to be.

Again, thank you and I wish I had the words to express my gratitude.

Sincerely,

Sally'sConcerns

I worked at Taji for nine months. I've sent your message to a friend there. I'll let you know if he can get it into the right hands.

The majority of the Iraqis are wonderful, generous people.

No matter what the media says.
