As strange as this red crescent is as a design for this memorial, I think it is most likely accidental. Paul Murdoch Architects is a small firm with no obvious links to Islam and the design was approved by a board that consists of family members of those that died in flight 93.

That said, it is still one of the odd coincidences I can imagine. And it will probably be changed once the connection to Islam is pointed out to the families.

You're more charitable than me. I seen and heard so many domestic enemies and traitors my suspicians are raised over anything like this. The Heinz Foundation connection heigthens my incredulity. Awaiting further facts, suspiciously...

A poster on Little Green Footballs found anti-Bush postings by this Murdoch guy online. He's an LA lefty. I'm not so sure it's a coincidence. He's awfully vehement about not changing anything in the design.
How hard would it be to plant sugar maples instead of red maples so the "crescent" was orange or golden? The fact that he seems unwilling to even consider the emotional reaction in so many people(including the committee) makes me believe he's just another Sheehani.
